Congratulations to Carla Honold (G3A) for being shortlisted

We would like to congratulate Carla Honold (G3A) who made it on to the shortlist of the Swiss Creative Writing Prize 2020 with her poem Distance. Matthew Wake, organizer of the event, quoted one of the judges who acknowledges the effort all writes put into their work: “All who submitted a piece, all who dared to put their hearts and souls on the frontline where their words would be read—all of you are writers. The real deal, one word at a time. It was a genuine honor to read your submissions.” Carla Honold is a member of the Advanced Creative Writing class at Kantonsschule Wettingen. Several students of our school have submitted outstanding texts this year, we hope for even more submissions in the years to come.

Castle Tour 2019 – A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare

Castle Tour 2019 – A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare

Every year, the American Drama Group Europe (ADG Europe) stops at the Castle of Lenzburg on its grand tour, for an open air performance of one of Shakespeare’s plays – in case the weather does not comply, actors, actresses and audience find shelter and an alternative stage in the Knight’s Hall inside the castle. Each year the ADG delights their captive audience, and each year some of our teachers and students enjoy the inimitable atmosphere at the castle and the words of England’s most famous bard.

This year, we are in for a special treat: ADG Europe takes on Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsumer Night’s Dream (full text used in their staging of the play available here).

Date: June 4th and 5th, 2019

Time: 19.30 (pm)

Location: Castle of Lenzburg

Welcome!

Is this a dagger which I see before me,
The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.
I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.
Art thou not, fatal vision, sensible
To feeling as to sight? or art thou but
A dagger of the mind, a false creation,
Proceeding from the heat-oppressed brain?
