Language Certificates (FCE, CAE and CPE)

When?

We offer language courses in preparation for final exams. The lessons are 45 minutes per week.

What?

FCE: B2-level, for FMS students in their third year who reached a mark of 5 or more in their second year at KSWE.

CAE: C1-level, for Gymnasium students in their third year who reached a mark of 5 or above in their second year at KSWE, and FMS students in their third year who reached a mark of 5.5 or above in their second year at KSWE.

CPE: C2-level, for Gymnasium students in their third year who reached a mark of 5.5 or above in their second year at KSWE, and were recommended by their respective English teachers. This is part of the gifted programme (Begabtenförderung), therefore not an elective.

When to register?

Students in their second years must register at the beginning of the calendar year, when they sign up for all their electives for the next academic year.

Cost and reimbursement

Students pay individually for their exams, the school is not involved

Exam

The exam, which is conducted by experts, consists of 5 parts: Reading comprehension, writing, grammar/vocabulary, listening comprehension and speaking.

Exam fee: approx. CHF 350 – 400
Exam date: free to choose
